Home sweet home

The big return home has finally arrived. After 11 months of preparation, countless hours of web design, travel arranging, workshop coordinating, accounting, fundraising, editing, text, emailing, cutting, taping, gluing, laminating, shopping, building, packing, and crying my kids are finished with there expedition in India and coming home. I am so excited and proud of them! But at the same time it just means that my friends are going to leave me. I have worked with these fabulous people for so long that it will be weird not to be so involved with them. They will go and and do new and exciting things...like graduate from high school...

I am okay with the fact that most of my friends are still getting their public education. These are great kids and it has been a pleasure watching them grow over the last year. I can't wait to hear all about their adventure. I will miss their text messages and phone calls. I will miss not hanging out with them every week. I will miss their inappropriate jokes and their teenage drama. But I guess thats why we keep doing this program, so that I can make a whole new group of kids hang out with me next year!

Welcome Home!

Swings and such

Millie and her dad hit the swings in the front yard. I don't know how thrilled she is to be on a swing...

YMAD

So i finally put another group of kids on a plane to India this weekend. They are adorable kids. If you want to follow their blog its on our website ymad.org.

Picture of the Month

Here Janae! A recent picture of my child. I hope you still like her.

FYI We had her two month appointment, and to nobody's surprise she was in the 10th percentile for height and weight. I guess little people breed little people. I am sorry Millie

One Month Pics

My cousin came a few weeks ago to take some pictures of Millie, it was one of the most stressful things I have done as parent. Millie wanted nothing to do with having her picture taken, and so basically I paid allot of money for a well documented temper tantrum. (Don't worry Ellen, its not the hat that made her cry)

The best part is that my cousin wanted to take Millie's picture in a giant pink flower head band thing, which I hate. But after making her put up with my screaming child I thought I would humor her. Of course this is the only time Millie held still long enough to get a half decent shot. Just my luck. (I edited most of the flower out).

My Spooky Post

I must brag about my extremely cute cupcakes. I am very proud of them...almost as proud as I was when I made home made chicken noodle soup back in college.

An now I must brag about my favorite frog.

Little brother

James has been out 18 months this week! He is a Zone leader in the student wards at Virginia Tech and he loves it.
